This painting depicts a Manila Tamarind in Tainan Park. During the 17th-century Dutch colonial period, Tainan served as Taiwan's capital, and Tainan Park was the largest park of its time. The Dutch introduced and extensively planted golden rain trees from their Southeast Asian colonies. Over three centuries later, these trees remain ubiquitous throughout the park, standing as enduring witnesses to history.
