Workshop description
In his image making practice and urban landscape paintings, Frank Tang Kai Yiu documents the community topography of Hong Kong including memorial parks, urban landscape, and historical buildings, as a means to reshape the city’s postcolonial history and untangle the connections among its inhabitants. This workshop follows the neighbourhood map drawn by Yesi’s poem ‘Midday,Quarry Bay’, where the poet depicts scenes of Quarry Bay in the 1970’s that may or may not still exist today. Participants will take a stroll around Quarry Bay with the artist and record and share the journey in the form of a zine.
